Charles Grech

“Vivendo Group was essential in allowing Charles Grech to reconfirm its position at the forefront of the luxury beverage retail market through their masterful design and development of our new Ta’ Xbiex outlet.”

Seating was provided by design pioneers Calligaris that designed and created a series of customised high bar stools elegantly upholstered in soft tan leather, inviting patrons to unwind over a bottle of good wine after a long day.

This unique project marks yet another milestone in the DEX portfolio. In the past, the company has been involved in several hospitality-based projects such as the customised furnishing of the entire George Hotel in St Julians, as well as the extensive refurbishment project carried out at Charles Grech Café & Cocktail Bar in Republic Street, Valletta.

Located at the Blue Harbour Marina, along the Ta’ Xbiex seafront, World of Wines is the latest addition to the prestigious Charles Grech portfolio.

Offering an eclectic range of premium wines and champagnes, Charles Grech has once again repositioned itself at the forefront of the market through its latest outlet.

Walking into World of Wines is an experience in itself. Tall walls are clad in some of the finest bottles of wine or bubbly and the entire room echoes memories of ancient libraries in novels or films – inclusive of a wooden ladder on wheels.

Following the excellent rapport created in the past, this entirely customised project was once again entrusted to DEX, Vivendo Group’s specialised commercial furnishings division. DEX’s team of dedicated professionals successfully strategized, designed, managed and developed the entire outlet’s furnishing requirements within a six-week timeframe.

DEX’s choices included specialist Italian carpentry firm Tumidei S.P.A. that were entrusted to match the client’s requirements, down to the finest of details. Apart from aesthetics and design, the sheer height and width of the shelving presented a challenge in itself. In addition, special attention needed to be given to the weight the shelving was expected to carry when creating initial designs due to their intended use. A natural wood feel was selected to bring out the cosy atmosphere of a wine cellar throughout the establishment.
